Warm Up Your Winter Days

It's January, and it's cold—BLAHHHH! Living in Edmonton can make it tough to feel warm and sunny during the winter months. But don’t worry! I have three delightful ways to combat those winter blahs. Maybe one or all three will help you get through to spring!

1. Treat Yourself to a Monthly Massage

I know, I know. A massage might not warm you up—unless it's a hot stone massage! But trust me, I always feel better, more relaxed, and ready to face the blizzards after one. Plus, if you have benefits, they’re refreshed and at the max, just waiting to be used! So why not indulge yourself? You deserve it!

2. Refresh Your Look with a Little Colour

Of course, I'm going to suggest something from my salon—it's my blog, after all! Getting a refresh on your blonde, blending away those pesky grays, or brightening your brunette base can leave you feeling fabulous. A new hair colour can be just the boost you need to brighten those winter days. Come visit me, and let’s create a look that makes you feel confident and beautiful!

3. Connect with Friends

I know that COVID-19 did a number on in-person socializing. It’s hard to believe it’s been what, five years already? But things are back to "normal," so why not have a few friends over or meet for dinner at your favorite spot? Being with others makes life happier. You can connect (or reconnect), share stories, and celebrate accomplishments. Even if it’s just that you put on makeup, did your hair, and dressed in something other than yoga pants and a hoodie!

Finding Joy in the Little Things

Winter can feel long and dreary, but finding joy in the little things can make a big difference. Whether it’s a cozy night in with friends or a refreshing new hairstyle, these moments can help lift your spirits.

Embrace Self-Care

Self-care is essential during these chilly months. Taking time for yourself can rejuvenate your mind and body. So, treat yourself to that massage, try a new hair colour, or host a fun gathering. You deserve to feel good every day, not just after a salon visit!

Conclusion: Let’s Get Through Winter Together!

I hope these tips help you get through the next couple of months. Maybe they’ll inspire other ideas for you to try. Let me know if you try any of mine or come up with others! I'm ALWAYS looking for ways to get through winter. If only Valium was readily available, I’d sleep for most of it!

Remember, you’re not alone in this winter journey. Let’s embrace the season together and make the most of it!
