February is an odd month. Is it still winter? Is it the beginning of spring? Icy or mucky, it's one of those months that leaves me feeling meh. So why not create something fun?
It's fun to play around with new looks with your hair; put it up differently, try new texturizing products add details like bubbles or braids. Here is a fun and fairly simple way to change up the sometimes boring ponytail.
Mohawk bubble buns
Need:
1.Shoulder length (ish) hair. Layers will work with this too.
2. 3-4 clear (or hair tone) small elastics. You can pick these up at the dollar store. If you have a ton of hair, you might need slightly bigger ones.
3. Comb, preferably with narrow teeth.
4. Texture powder or spray. I like Joico's Hair Shake liquid to powder spray or VERBS texture spray.
5. Optional: little claw clips and hairspray
A. Begin with spraying your texture product throughout hair, roots to ends. The less hair you have, the more you might to get that really full voluminous feeling. Go BIG!!
B. Next, section your bangs or a triangle shaped section, temple to temple and to a point 2-3" back, depending on your hairs density.
C. Take an elastic and make a small "messy bun" at the back of that section. Use comb to tease it for more volume. Spread it out making it nice and full.
D.Next section above ears all around; kind of similar to a half pony, repeat with messy bun, adding tease and texture spray as desired.
E. Repeat sectioning, creating a small messy bun, until all your hair is up, generally 3-4 buns.
F. Spray again, either with texture or hairspray. Add optional clips under each bun to add more volume. Pull out a few tendrils around face or leave it sleek, you choose!
This look is great for casual to glam, just add hair bling to make it stand out!!
Have fun creating, drop a comment if you try this or create something of your own!
